Hans Põldoja (born 1979) is a doctoral student in the Media Lab at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. His areas of interest include design of educational software, use of ICT in learning, online communities and human-computer interaction.

In 1999-2002 he worked as an ICT manager and computer science teacher at Tallinn Lillekyla Gymnasium. During that time he started the development of open source learning environment VIKO that is used in several secondary schools in Estonia.

In 2003-2005 he worked as in various positions at Tallinn Pedagogical University (now Tallinn University). In the Centre for Educational Technology he participated the development of learning management system IVA. Later he worked as a research associate in the Department of Computer Science. Hans was teaching several courses and supervising students working on master's and bachelor's thesis.

Hans Põldoja attended Tallinn Pedagogical University from 1998-2003, graduating a master's degree in computer science. He wrote his master's thesis about the user interface design for learning management system IVA.

Since 2004 Hans Põldoja is working on his doctoral dissertation at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. His doctoral research is about collaborative authoring of learning resources. Part of the research is carried out in frames of CALIBRATE project where Media Lab UIAH is leading the development of LeMill - a web community for collaborative authoring and sharing of learning resources.
